Dear Neighbors,
This is a reminder that the City Planning Commission must receive comments regarding the proposed Hollywood Horizon development at 7107 Hollywood Boulevard no later than January 12, 2015 5 pm.
The developer who bought the site wants to demolish the Mosaic Church on Hollywood and La Brea and build a massive commercial/ and residential development including a 256 skyscraper with 10,000 square feet of commercial space as well as a public “plaza” and a commercial parking structure. This will have a domino impact on zoning and density throughout the residential areas of our neighborhood.
The developer is requesting the current zoning regulations be permanently changed to accommodate high-density mixed-use development with no height restrictions. There is an Initial Study, which provides information on the scope of the project, and if you have not read it, you can view it below. The City Planner will provide comments to the developer and those comments must be addressed in the Environmental Impact Report. That’s why it’s crucial for homeowners in Hollywood to write letters to the City Planner opposing all changes to current zoning as well as your concerns and comments about the scope of the project.
What can you do?
Submit your comments to the City Planning Commission by Monday, January 12
