The Friends of La Rocha Trail is a grassroots group organized to preserve and protect this rare stretch of uninterrupted greenspace in the hills of the Hollywood Dell from impending development. The Friends of La Rocha Trail have:

  • Established a partnership with the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority
  • Obtained support from key government officials and community organizations
  • The Hollywood Dell (and beyond) community made it happen. La Rocha Trail is now greenspace in perpetuity. The purchase of the 10 lots along La Rocha Trail is completed and now the property is under the conservatorship of the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority. Congratulations, and thank you to ALL of the Friends of La Rocha Trail!

and save them from development. After much effort and the recent assist from City Council
candidate Tomas O’Grady, we were able to put together a deal for significantly less $’s.
Purchase price: $299,000 for all 10 lots . Down Payment: $75,000
Balance due in two years (the owner will charge 10% to hold the paper, which would be
an additional $45,000 if it takes the entire two years to raise the balance)
Maintenance: $25,000 for SMMC/MRCA to hold to pay for annual brush clearing in
perpetuity.  Total To Be Raised = $369,000 HDCA Membership Meeting Minutes . March 9, 2011 “We have to act quickly to get the down payment money collected. The deal is not a deal until we
have the down payment and the paperwork is completed. We need everyone to contribute!
