It is critically important to get people elected who will fully address community concerns. More than 2,000 residents, business owners and visitors, in other words voters, have signed a petition to keep the Barham ramp opened. The Barham Ramp is a vital gateway to our community, and is a gateway that Universal Studios and Caltrans plan to close this year – affecting thousands of residents, businesses and visitors who depend on that ramp on a daily basis.
After sitting through half a dozen debates wherein this issue has been discussed, the Keep the Barham Ramp Association (KTBRA) has given a report card to the candidates on this issue. Some of them (but, not all) have contacted KTBRA to get informed about the issue. We are thrilled and heartened by the support the majority of the candidates have given to this critical issue. But, then there are others…
KTBRA recognizes that there are many issues and concerns that you must consider when casting your vote for the new Councilmember for CD4. We believe that the candidates’ position on this critical issue is indicative of how diligently they will represent the interest of their constituents and protect the neighborhoods in CD4 against unscrupulous developers. We are not endorsing any particular candidate, but here are some quotes from the candidates concerning the ramp, and the grade we assigned them in a Pass-Fail grading scale (with some Extra Credit included).
